Aquatic Zoo

Spend a couple of hours, or maybe the whole day with family and friends! Dare the water slides, soar from the high-dive or lounge away in the Lazy River. Enjoy our zero-depth entry pool or do laps in our 25 meter pool. Can your kids make it across the log bridge without falling in? Swim, splash, soak or sun at Mt. Vernon’s Aquatic Zoo! Visit Mt. Vernon’s favorite summer destination—the Aquatic Zoo in Lincoln Park just off of Veteran’s Memorial Drive.

Museums

Mitchell museum & Cedarhurst center for the arts

You will not be disappointed as there is something for everyone all year round. The Beck Family Center is a great outlet to create, play and connect; it’s open to the public and admission is free. The Goldman-Kuenz Sculpture Park opened in 1993 and currently features 73 sculptures establishing this as one of the largest sculpture parks in the Midwest. Enjoy the ever-changing art exhibits and permanent collections within Mitchell Museum and the Shrode Art Center. Cedarhurst offers a wide array of events from children and adult art classes, groups and clubs; the Arts and Crafts Fair every fall; to Thursday Night Live with catered food, live music, and great company every Thursday evening through the summer. The Happening Committee aims to engage young adults with unique events such as Blues & Brews and the Oktoberfest Sculpture Walk. Be sure to keep up with them! Memberships are available but not required.
